#4 Hello Kitty's Sleigh Ride
When I saw that the toys this month in the McDonald’s Happy Meal were Hello Kittys I thought, “My niece would LOVE these for Christmas!” She is crazy for Hello Kitty. So the next day I was on a mission: to get all 8 Hello Kittys. I was a bit late on this because it was the last week that they were offering this toy. One nice server rummaged through the bin and found me #3,4,5,6. Wa-hooo! Now do I buy them separately for $2.25 (in Canada) or get a Happy Meal, toy included, for 5 bucks? It was lunchtime so I bought all my kids a Happy Meal… ha ha… just for the toy. Isn’t that what McDonald’s wants you to do? Anyways, off I go to another McDonald’s to find the missing Kittys. At a smaller “Drive Thru” McDonald’s the server found me #7 and 8. She said that it would be hard to find #1 and 2 because they came out first a few weeks ago. DANG! Oh and I bought 2 more Happy Meals to get #7 and 8. Later I saw the complete set on EBay. I had to stop (slap) myself. Then I saw a book for collectors with prices: McDonald’s Happy Meal Toys in the U.S. Whoa! Collecting Happy Meal toys is serious business! I confess I have collected my share of Happy Meal toys. Toys are my weakness. A few years ago I had to end it. My collection was taking up too much space. So now I just buy them for other people. Come on, Hello Kittys are so cute! How could anyone resist?!
