    Some Do's and Don'ts

    DON’T put your feet up on the table.

    use your napkin.

    DON'T fall asleep at the table.  If you know you're
    going out, get a good nights sleep or
    take a nap before you go out.

    DO smile and call the waitress or hostess when you want something.

    DON'T criticize the food.  
    Especially if you have been invited
    to someone's house.

    DO cover your mouth if you sneeze or
    cough or yawn.

    DON'T make bets that you can eat 6 crackers in
    one minute or play other silly
    eating contests or games.

    DON'T
    talk with your mouth full.

    DO use your fork but...

    if it's finger food like French fries or
    sandwiches you can use your fingers.

    DON'T try to cover up your dirty or stinky feet.
    It won't work.
    Come to the table clean and smelling nice.

    DON'T play with your hair at the table.

    DON'T pick your nose at the table.

    DON'T chew with your mouth open.

    DON'T pick at your food.

    DO compliment the hostess.  
    You could say something nice
    about the table setting or the food.  
    There is always something nice to say.

    DO come in a good mood and have a good time.

    Here are a few simple tea party etiquette.

    1. Arrive at the table with clean hands and face.
    2. Start eating when the host begins, or when everyone else does.
    3.  Don’t criticize the food.
    4. Talk with everyone at the table.
    5. Thank the person who invited you and the person who prepared the meal
    6. You touchy, you takey
    7. Say “please” and “thank you”
